I choose the swift fox because it is an interesting and cute animal. In fact it is smallest of all foxes. It is known as Vulpse Velox in the scientific community. This organism is an animal because it is multi cellular and is a heterotroph.

EXTERNAL FEATURES

The swift fox is the smallest fox species and only weighs around 5-7lbs. It is only a foot high and is around 23 inches long. Unlike the well known red fox, the swift's coat is tan to match its midwestern habitat. The swift fox's structure is it has bilateral symmetry and 4 legs which it walks on. It has black paws, a black tipped nose, and a long bushy tail. You can tell it is a swift by its tiny size. Many of these characteristics make the swift fox a mammal.

INTERNAL FEATURES

The swift fox is a vertebrate. It also has the same systems as humans( respiratory, digestive, etc). These systems help it catch, eat, and digest food. Their internal system is similar to other mammals.

BEHAVIORS

The swift fox is a predator and feeds on rabbits, mice/rodents, reptiles, and prairie dogs. The swift fox sexually reproduces and cares for its young during the summer months. The swift fox's average lifespan in the wild is 3-6 years.

Even though the swift fox is making a come back, humans still need to do their part to keep it this way. We need to stop destroying its habitat to make homes. Also tougher hunting regulations would help stop their killing for fur.
